♦ (PNITRD " PRESS ASSOCIATION) ' Welungton, Jnly 12. It is understood that the Government have received a cablegram that their application iv. H.M.tS. Miranda hag been mentioned to the proper authorities. Nothing further has been heard of Mr A. L. Levy. It is thought he may have left for Sydney oa Thursday, aa lie has not been seen since that day. Applications have been made to the finvernment for the lease of from 50 to 200 acres of land near the Summit on the Wellington and Masterton railway for the purpose of opening out and working a quarry of building stone. The stone has been favorably reported on by Mr W. Skey, Government Geologist. ' A wrestling match for £25 a-side and the championship of New Zealand between Hudson, the present champion, and Roach of Wellington, took place to-night. The former conceded the latter one throw, the match to be the best three out of five throws. Hudson secured three falls and won.
