THE HOME ELECTIONS. \ MR GLADSTONE REVIEWS TIIE POSITION. (SPEOTATj TO UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION,) London, July 10. Tremendous exertions are being made to unseat the Marquis of , Hartington. . , July 11. ! The result of the elections show that m England 95 Glads tonites, 1 , Parnellite, 205 Conservatives, and , 41 Unionists have been elected. In Scotland, 38 Gladstonites, 8 Con* sorvatives, and 13 Unionists have ; been In Wales, 17 Grladstonites, 4 Conservatives, and < 3 Unionists ; and m Ireland, 12 Conservatives and 2 Unionists have gained seats, Mr Trevelyan was defeated by 30 votes, Mr Arch by 20, aud Mr T. Healy by 138. Mr Gladstone, m reviewing the elections, stated that Wales and Scotland had seen their duty to i wards Ireland quickly, but England had yet to learn hers slowly aud painfully.
