In the matter of a Bill intituled l'" The | Wairan Gas Company (Limited) Act, J 880." NOTICE is hereby given that it is intended to present a petition to the Gefteral Assembly of New Zealand, at the Session, praying for leaye tojMtrodnce a Bill to be intituled "The \VSrau Gas Company (Limited) Act, 188(5," ip authorise the said Company to purchase, the Blenheim Gas VVorks, and to open and. break up under the superintendence of the Corporation of the Borough of Blonheim, the soil and pavement of the streets and roads, within the Borough of Blenheim ; to break up bridge-seweis, drains or sewera ; and to erect pillars and lamps ; and to lay down and place pipes, conduits, service' pipes ; ami to make and to do other works necessary or expedient for continuing to supply and to extend the, supply of gas to the jiorough of Blenheim, and to make and construct other works for anpplying and extending the supply of gas to the said Borough. .It is also intended by the said Bill to take powers to the said' Company to contract with the said Corporation or with any person or persona therein for supplying gas, or letting meters to them or any of them, and to enter upon buildings to ascertain the quantities of. ga3 consumed, and suo far the recovery of rents for gas supplied, and to cut off and take away the supply of gas, and to enter upon buildings to take away gaspipes on non-payment of such rents, and to impoae penalties for the wilful destruction of the Company's property. , Copies of the proposed Bill will be 'deposited m the office of the Examiner of Standing Orders forthwith.
