The Board met as usual on Monday last. Present : The Commissioner of Crown Lands (intho chair), andMeaara Dortson and Lambert. / Leave of absence waa granted to Air Collins. . . Newman for license to cut firewood, fencing and shingles, and logs for sawmill, over 10 acrea; Onamalutu. Granted for one year, tithes fid per . cord for firewood, 2a per 100 for fencing, Is Gd per hundred for shingles, and Gd per 100 for milling timber. Rent £1 a year. Application from Henry McArtney and Frank Woolley for timber license over abont 50 acres west of section 143 Picton suburban. Granted, rent £5 a year, tithes fid per 100 for timber, Cd pet cwfc for firewood, 2a per 100 posts and rails, running measure, term 3 years from date. Resolved that tho report of the members of the Board appointed to visit the Awatere, with the view of selecting a suitable sito for a village nottlement, be adopted, and that the same be transmitted to the Hon. the Minister of Lands, with a respectfulrequest that effect may bo given to tho recommendation therein contained. Resiolved, m reply to a circular from .thft Under Secretary of Crown Larida, that-in the opinion of the Board them ia no available Crown land m Mnrlborough land district suitable for disposal under tho homestoad Byatoni. Tho Board then adjourned.
