Conservatives were elected for the following seats held m last Parliament by Liberals : — Newport, Shropshire, Nimeaton (Warwickshire) (Florae) ( Somersetshire) and fol'owing divisions cf South-east Lancashire, Viz., Hey wood, Middleton, Radcliffe, Stratford, Gorton, and Presfcwich. For the remaining divisions of Lancashire; West Houghtonand Socles, Conservatives have been re elected. Gladstoneites .secured seats for Elgin and Mont-gomery-am! the Conserva* ives the seats for the following divisions : — North Lancashire, North Loristlale, Lancaster and Choi-ley, Osborne Morgan, Under Secretary for the Colonies, wai re elected for East Denbigh, bnfc by a very small majority only. The latest complete liat.ahows that 240 Conservatives, M Unionists, 121 Gladstoncites, and t>s Par-i uellitios, have been returned. ■ Received July 8, 10 p.m. London, July?. Sir Wm, Grossman has been re. elected for Portsmouth, the other seat being secured by Sir Samuel Wilson. Waddy, who unsuccess fully contested North Islington at the last general election, has been retnrned for Brigg (Lincolnshire), m place of Sir H. M. Thompson. Keceived, July 9th, 1 a.m London, Jnly 8. Liberal candidates for West Ham (Essex), Acrington and Southport (Lancashire), have been defeated by Conservatives^ while a supporter of Mr Gladstone has been returned for Carmarthen
