3 he following is the report for the week ending. Friday evening, the Ist July, 1881:—

The' market during the week is without alteration, and no circumstance baa arisen which calls for any comment.

iWheat— Becent telegraph advices from England,! reporting a rise m price, hava imparted a firmer tone to our local market, although without a quotable 'advance. Good sound milling- is worth from 3b 8d to 3s lOd per bushel ; - exceptionally fine parcels of Tuscan would command Id to 2d per bushel more,. Good seconds are worth from 2s 6d to -2s Bdper bushel. Chick wheat from Is 6d to 2s 6d per bushel ; seed wheats, 4g 3d to 4s Cd per bushel.

Oats- The market is without alteration, but prices firm at last week's quotation, viz., good Btout, milling,, 2a. Id to. 2a 3d f.0.b. : leed samples, Is 8d to Is lOd per bushel. Barley^There is' a moderately fair demand for. good malting samples, the majority on offer are, however, hardly up to the consumers' standard ; last week's prices must be repeated First-class malting from: 2s 9d to 3s 6d ; fair to medium, 2s 3d to 2s Gd per bushel J feed quality Is lOd to 2s Id. •' -

;■- Potatqes— A , good. many, sales have taken place during the week, and paces m sympathy with the demand have increased, 333 to 35s per ton at suburban stations being the prices at which business is done— this for immediate delivery'; for delivery m August," 4o3 to 42s 6d per ton, m all cases sacks extra.

Grass Seed There is not much to report ■with . regard to this article : ql produce, and prices are without alteration ; for well cleaned farmer's lots 4s 6d to 5a per bushel is the-. quotation ; not much- business doing.
