LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL.
Wellington, July 5. In the Council to-day, the Chinese Immigration Bill passed through committee without amendment. One by Dr Folleen, that the Bill should not come into operation till the Chiuese numbered 2 per cent, to European population, was negatived by 14 to 7The Bill was read a third time and passed. Tbe Bank and Bankers Act Amendment Bill was read a second time.
The Gaming and Lotteries Bill was partly considered ia committee.
The Council adjourned at 4.50.
