NOTES FROM WELLINGTON.
[From our own Correspondent.] By Telegram. Wellington, May 30. The announement that Mr Weston would, after all, contest the Grey Valley has created some alarm m the Ministerial circle. He is almost certain to defeat Fitzgerald. The West Coasters have not forgotten Fitzgerald's last election fiasco. The Nelson people visiting Wellington speak very hesitatingly of Richmond's chance of success. Personally he is liked, fcut as the Government nominee, he is regarded with suspicion. It_ is thought here that one or more Ministers are defraying Fitzgerald's election expenses.
