Aokicultuhai. Association. — The name of Mr W. Parker should be added to those of the gentlemen composing the Committee of the Marlborough Agricultural and Pastoral Association, published yesterday. The Association, it will be noticed, invite applications for the office of secretary for the ensuing year. Tenders. — Tbnders are invited by Mr D. Herd, until Tuesday, March 22, for the erection of about one and a half miles of fencing m the Taylor Biver, close to Meadow Bank Station. The tenders for cutting a new channel m the Omaka River at the top of High-street, Blenheim, must be sent m to the Secretary of the Eivers Board not later than Thursday next, when the Board meets. Bankruptcy. — A meeting of the creditors m the estate of James Bartlett is convened for the 22nd inst at the Blenheim Court House. Removal. — Messrs Litchiield and Son have removed their business from their old premises on the west side of Market Place. The grocery branch of their extensive trade will m future be carried on m the shop lately occupied by Messrs Healy and Son, and the drapery m the large and commodious shop adjoining the Bank of New Zealand. Education Board. — The Education Board held a special meeting this morning for the transaction of business unavoidably held over from last ordinary meeting. The members present were Messrs G. Henderson, J. Ward, Conolly, Parker, and Paul, and Captain Baillie. The Chair was taken by the last named gentleman, m the absence of Mr Seymour. The most important matter transacted was the giving effect to of the recommendation of the Grove Town School Committee for the dismissal of the teacher Mr Andrewe. A long discussion took place as to when Mr Macklin's arrears of salary should be paid, whether to the trustee m his estate, or to himself. It was finally decided to allow the matter to stand over until the one party or the other obtained authority from the Supreme Comt for the payment to them of the sum due. The architect was instructed to see to the supplying of some necessary furniture m the Picton schools. Mr Conolly's motion came on for the abolition of the Blenheim High School from the end of the present month, and its reduction to the same level as the other schools m the district, and after a very short discussion was carried unanimously. This concluded the business. Our report will appear to-morrow. Put to Flight.— During the harvesting operations on the station of the Hon. John Hall a few days ago, the reapers came suddenly on a swarm of bees m the wheat. The angry insects immediately attacked the intruders, and the horses became unmanageable.
