New Zealand Parliament.

[By Telegraph.]

Tuesday. After Mr Richardson took his seat, Mr Shrimski gave notice to ask if the Agent-General was dispensed with, or his successor to be appointed. A long and acrimonious debate arose over the production of correspondence (supposed) between Government and the Auckland members, respecting their votes. A memo was read from Mr Cooper, the Under Secretary, saying no such correspondence was recorded. An attempt was then made to move for a select committee to take evidence on oath, and enquire into the matter. Sir George Grey said the member for Newton had a document. Mr Swanson said he had a document which he wrote himself, and was not ashamed of anything in it. He promised several members to show it them, and would have done so, but when it came back it was. marked “confidential,” as the Premier objected to making the document public. He did not consider members came there to look into his pocket. No resolution of the House would compel him to produce it. There was a lot of rot talked about the document, when all knew any vote must be passed by the House. The debate continued till 5*30, the Opposition condemning in strong terms the four, and Government and others defending their conduct. , The Legislative Council considered the prosecutors in the Kinross case, were guilty of a breach of privilege, but presuming they acted in ignorance, recommended no notice to be taken. At the evening sitting on the question of supply Mr Macandrew referred to the fact that the question had been whether the real parents of the Liberal measures or their stepfathers, should carry them through. He announced that his party would not offer any opposition to business being proceeded with, and. asked that his Want of Confidence motion be discharged. This was done, and the L 20,000 Supply passed. The second reading of the Land Act Amend* ment Bill caused a long debate, which was adjourned. "J The Government Bills were postponed tail Friday. 1 The House rose at 12*40 a,m.
