Government Notifications, v. RNEW ZEALAND RAILWAYS. MIDDLE ISLAND RAILWAYS. 100,000 SLEEPERS. Public Works Offices, Dunedin, 15th April, 1879. WRITTEN TENDERS will be received at this Office up to Noon on TUESDAY, 3rd June, 1879, for the SUPPLY and DELIVERY of 100,000 SLEEPERS, to be delivered at Westport, Greymouth, Hokitika, Jackson’s Bay, Bluff Harbour, Dhnedin, Port Chalmers, and Lyttelton. They must be addressed to the Hon. the Minister for Public Works, Wellington, and marked outside “Tender for Sleepers Middle Island Railways.” Specifications may be seen at the Public Works Offices, Nelson, Blenheim, Westport, Greymouth, Hokitika, Jackson’s Bay, Invercargill, Dunedin, Christchurch, and Wellington. Telegraphic tenders, similarly addressed and marked, will be received if presented at any Telegraph Office by Noon of the same date, provided that written tenders in due form are lodged at a District or Resident Engineer’s Office by the same hour, and accompanied by a cheque on some bank in the town where the tender is lodged, such cheque to be specially marked by a banker as good for one month, and to be in favour of the Receiver-General’s Deposit Account only, and not to bearer or order. NOTICE is hereby given that pursuant to the provisions contained in Disuse 40 of the “Rating Act, 1876” it is the intantion of the Pukaka Board of River Conservators to a make a Rate of One Shilling in the Pound on the yearly valuation of all properties in the said district upon the Ninth day of June, 1879, for the period commencing on the Fi’st day of April, 1879, and ending on Thirtyfirst day of March, 1880, payable in one sum to the Chairman of the Board, Mr John Botham, at his Workshop, Tua Marina, on the said ninth day of June, 1879, where the Rate Book can be inspected|between the hours of 10 o’clock in the morning and 4 o’clock in the afternoon. PURSUANT to the provisions contained in Clause 40 of the “ Rating Act, 1876.” Notice is hereby given that it is the intention of the Board of River Conservators for the District of Spring Creek to make a Rate of One Shilling in the Pound, on all properties appearing in Class I, and Six Pence in the Pound on all properties appearing in Class 11, on the 6th day of June, 1879, for the period commencing on the First day of April, 1879, and ending on the Thirtyfirst day of March, 1880, payable in one sum to the Secretary, at his office Marlboroughtown on the said Fifth day of June, 1879, when the Rate Book can be inspected during the office hours.
