Fearful gales have been experienced m the North Sea. Sydney, Nov. 20. The Fiji mail brings a report of the loss of the schooner Tub'al Cain, bound for Auckland, from Levuka, Ono Island. The seaman's strike continues. The men leave all the A. S. N. steamers on arrival, They refuse work while Chinese are employed. Sailed : Rotorua. Britbane, Nov. 20. The Queensland general elections are proceeding. Melbourne, Nov. 20. The following is the result of the embracery convictions : — David Henry, money-lender sentenced to four years imprisonment and £500 fine ; Ireland and Froists, money-lenders, two years' imprisonment and £50 fine,
