Therefore I now respec t fully offer my services, and should you decide to place me at the head of the Council, I shall esteem it an honor. It may be thought p> esumption on my part by some that I should aspire to the honor, as I have not been m the Council .lately or long, but while I was m I had the honor of assisting (and I worked hard to do it) m bringing the Aci into woi'king orde^-j and if again elected by you I will do my best to help to continue the working of the new Act, and further improve the Town by assisting to dispense the funds at disposal as judiciously as possible. I trust my long residence among you, and the interests I have at stake m the Town, will have that consideration at your hands as shall give me as fair a chance as can reasonably be expected to obtain the honorable position I ask of you.
