CHURCH MUSIC.

Sir, — How is it that m a large congregation. . such as tlio Church of England m this town is, the mnsic should be so utterly-execrable? Surely there uiiist be many amongst their number who by a little drilling could work together inaform^ something like a choir ; and, most of all, surely", m mercy's namo a competent player can be procured, and if necessary paid for his services, for, setting aside any other drawbacks which may affect the Church at present, the torture- of listening to such music as that at present provided is quite sufficient m itself to drive many from the Church who would otherwise attend. Some year 3 ago I believe the music was creditable, what can be the cause . of its falling off? Surely some of the Church members should stir themselves to have this state of things altered. — Yours &c, Episcopalian.
