The Gladstone Ministry resigned^ after the recent debate. The Queen accepted their resignation, and summoned D'lsraeli, who after consulting his colleagues announced that lie would not form a Ministry unless vith a new Parliament.
Mr Gladstone was then summoned, and the Queen having informed him that the Opposition had abandoned the expectation of forming a Cabinet, he placed his services at her Majesty's disposal.
Franco and Germany have signed an agreement to pay the indemnity m instalments ending m September. All French territory to be evacuated m July, except Verdun, which is to be evacuated m September. .
The Carlists defeated the regulars near Farapeluna.
The regulars have since defeated 3000 Carlists.
Sir George Ferguson was married on the 13th.
The Anglo- Australian Steam Company's Service via the Cape of Good Hope is registered with a capital of £1,250,000.

The Queen has authorised a dissolution, but the Conservatives have no programme, and the moment was inopportune. The Ministry remains intact.
