(From our Own Correspondent.) Departure of Forces to Wanganui. Release of the Ruby and Kate, Wellington, Friday, 6 p.m. The steamers Ahuriri and Scurt, with 200 Constabulary on board, have proceeded to Wanganui. Fifty Arawas have left Napier for the same destination. The St. Kilda has returned to Napier for more. Colonel Whitmore, after remaining in Wellington a day in consultation with the Ministry, went on to Wanganui, where active operations are to be immediately resumed. Te Koote’s two wives are taken to Wanganui. There is no mail. The prisoners were all brought down. All the rest were shot except one or two. Bevans has sold the Wairarapa station, of 20,000 acres of freehold land, with improvements, and 1,800 sheep, for £21,000, to the Hon. Mr. Waterhouse, late of Anelaide. The Provincial Government Wharf has been leased for three years to Mr. Tonks, at £1750 per annum. Laery of Picton tendered at £ISOO.
The advertisement for Telegraph poles for the Wanganui line is withdrawn temporarily on account of a reconstruction of the conditions. The schooners Ruby and Kate have been released by the Customs on payment of the duty on the contraband rum found in tlieir possession.
