/ RIVERSDALE SALE. The monthly sale was held at Riversdale yesterday in wet: weather, when 1 there Was only a small atlendaneo of farmers and buyers. There is a firmer tone in the oats market, as buyers are Gliding it necessary ,to advance their limit of price at country stations. Advice from South Canterbury shows that farmers are holding firmly for at least 4s at country stations, and consequently very few oats have yet changed hands there. The harvest is" late and the unfavorable weather may result in a good deal of grain being discoiored. Out sheaf ;liaff has -advanced in sympathy with jots and is now quoted at &i 15s to £5 for prime at country stations. The chaff is of good quality this season, but very little yet has been cut. The market has eased i little during the week and the quotation now is ;£!i 10s, to <£’s 15s, at country stations, according to distance. At the Liverpool wool sales merinos and fine crossbreds realised five per cent, above the London sales. Low crossbreds unchanged.
