Italian Headquarters correspondentsstate that the Montello Hills, which the British will shortly hold, extend for 10 miles and are situated in the curves formed bv the River Piave where it debouches from the mountains. The position commands .*{o miles of the Piave Valley and overlooks, the two main roads by which the enemy ran invade the countrv from Feltre. The Montello Hills form the. last bulwark in the way of an Aiistro-tiermai! descent from the eastern side of Mount Graffa.
