At the Police Court to-day George BaLsille. aged 75 years, was' charged with going through a form of marriage with Barbara Lawson Strang, aged 76 years, when he was already married (states a Dunedin Press Association telegram). Defendant had not been living with his wife for 10 years and married again in January last. Defendant said he had not heard positively during seven years prior to his second marriage that his wife was alive. The Registrar took him to a solicitor and defendant explained the position to him. Defendant reserved his defenee and was committed for trial. In subsequent maintenance proceedings a separation w?s granted and an allowance to tile vu;»a was iixed at £1 wekljO _
