KING COUNTRY ACCIDENT.

TRUCKS OVERTURN. MAORI CHILD KILLED. FOUR) MAORIS INJURED. PER UNITED TRESS ASSOCIATION. TATBI-AEiUNUI, Jan. 22. A terrible accident occnrx'ed l this morning on the Taringamotu Timber Company’s line. A train of open trucks and a- covered car runs from Taringamotu to Waituhi. A number of Maoris travelled on an open; truck, pakehas travelling in the covered car. Apparently the train ran off the line, as the trucks overturned, killing a. Maori child and badly injuring its mother, and breaking the legs of two Maori women and the arm of another. . Fortunately the covered van saved the pakehas, who escaped . injury.
