SCOTTISH LIQUOR LAW.

Scottish public-houses cannot open for business before 10 a.m. The change from 8 a.m. in made bv the Temperance (Scotland) Act, ,1913. ' It is an attempt to prevent shipyard workers, dockers, canal laborers, and others ivho begin work at a or 6 o'clock from having a drink after their breakfasts. So. far the impending change hris not caused much concern among these whom it will affect. They r.re contenting themselves with the declaration that if tlioy want a drink they will have one. They reciall that when public-houses wore closed at 10 p.m. the dockers changed their supper hour from 10 o'clock to 9-30.
