GORE COMMERCIAL REVIEW. ' Ensign' Office, ■July 21. Oats.—for some time nasb there lias boon an absence of offering)* from farmers and it is evident that there are very feiv oats held ill the country. There a re, however, fairly lifeavy slocks in .stores and merchants are doing their l;est to work these off. No further .inquiries have been received from the linglWh market, which is dull. Locally the only lines ill request are heavy Cartons) .-:uital)!e for milling, and a few sales have been made ex store. Feed oa!s are slow' of sale, there being only a moderate demand from the North Island. Chaff. —There is only a moderate demand at from £2 10s to £2 15s, according to quality. The Dunedin market is well stocked at present and very little local chaff is being forwarded on consignment Fowhvheat is in short supply and prices .have advanced to 3s 9d. There is a good demand for broken wheat and feci barley.

CORE STOCK SALE,

The fortnightly stock sale "was held in the Gore Corporation Yards today in cold, slwwery weather. Itv consequence the sheep, of which there were 20OQ yarded, looked bedraggled. There was a fair attendance, and on the whole the sale was a. good one, only a coupleof pens being passed as not reaching vendors' reserves. Kwcs in lamb formed the bulk of the yarding, and for good young sheep good prices were realised. A pen. of fat wethers, realised •21s, urnl a fat (pet) two-tooth wether was knocked down for 375. Fat ewe;; and wethers averaged from: 19s to 21s. A fino line of 4. 0 and 8-tootli. ewes (in lamb) realised 255, and another link was passed in at 22s Gd. The following sales were effected:—
