A wild scene occurred at the Carnarvonshire (Wales) Sessions. Geoigina Lloyd and Phillipa North ■were each sentenced to three months' imprisonment lor window-breaking at Cricciet.li; 'Lloyd attempted to leap over the dock, and five warders held her down. (North, is otherwise known as Olive Whari-y. She inserted £90,000 three years ago. In December last the proprietress of the Kew Gardens tea pavilion sued Miss Olive Vharry and Miss Lilian Lenton., Suffragettes, for damages for burning the pavilion. Presiding at the Diocesan Conference, the Archbishop of Canterbury ('Dr. Davidson) said that the pathos of militancy was deepened by the knowledge that who participated therein had become unhinged, violent and hysterical through the sudden realisation of existing facts 'about some forms of normal vice which were casting a shameful stain upon the Christian community and chiefly upon its manhood. Nevertheless militancy was unmitigatedly evil and hostile to the foundation principles of Christian citizenship.
