B. 1 Bottorhiley (Professor of Botany at King's College, London) has produced at the college a new stimulant for plant life called baeterised. Tomatoes grown from, seed's planted in pure sand watered with- a.n extract of this product, an eggcupful being -sprinkled, on the surface of the soil, doubled their sine. Arum lilies and. plants of every kind grew more strongly and flowered more profusely with intensified colors. . Similar results were obtained with wheat, barley and oats.

The agricultural colleges are. making expensive; experiments with the ary and, the Irihs Department is using two tons for potato tests.
