WAIKAIA PICNIC.

I ♦" The annual Waikaia Sunday school picnic was held) on Boxing Day at Stirling's Bush. The day was an ideal one | for such am outing, the consequence being that a large number of children and adults were present. The picnic party was conveyed to their destination and 1 home by waggons kindly lent by Messrs A. Christie, E. Dennis t and Colin Mckenzie. Before dispersing for the home journey Mrs Hain, superintendent of the Sunday school, distributed the prizes to the scholars, every one receiving a gift. Rev. W. Hain also , donated four Bibles for church attend- [ ance, which fell to two families, Mr W, McKee and Mr Jas. Cooper. Thew was an abundance of cakes and othei nice things provided by the ladies, with . out whose Kelp there would have beer a great want.
