Daring an inquest on a child at Omttygh the coroner refused to call medical evidence on the ground that be was personally responsible for the doctor's fee. He directed the jury to find that the child was fatally burned but the jury declined in the absence of medical evidence. After an altercation the jurymen were kicked up in a dark room without food. The coroner yielded after four hours and called in a doctor:
