Mr Anthony Brady, a tea and granite dealer in the United States, left an estate in Great Britain valued at £1,315,000. This is the fourth millionaire's estate proved during the current financial year.

It was recently cabled that the People's Bank of India, with 72 branches as far apart as Rangoon and Bombay, and £BO,OOO capital, has suspended payment. This has led- to the closing down of the Amritsar Bank, which has 14 branches. There was a continuous run on other Indian-managed banks at Lahore, hut the English-managed institutions were not affected.
