CHRiSTCHURCH PRODUCE. PEE UNITED' PEESS ASSOCIATION. CHRISTCHURCH, Sept. 26. After being in a lifeless state for some months, there is a movement in- the wheat market. A number of millers, both in the South and the North Island are replenishing their stocks. Mo*st of ifche business is being done by merchants, as there is very little offering by growers. Thero is no change in prices so far, business taking place on the basis of late quotations. Stocks of oats in merchants' hands ate now getting short, and it is anticipated' that there will be a better demand for them in the near future. Potatoes are rather firmer, as growers are not troubling to pick over their crops in the pit for the low price that has lately been paid. Even at the 27s 6d now offered supplies are difficult to obtain, and 30s is generally asked. Some growers have either used their potatoes or have sold them, as they Btood' in the pit as feed for dairy cows, accepting the low price rather than pick tine potatoes over.

The flour market is quiet, and prices are unchanged. Oats are scarce, and prices are firm. La Plata, January-February shipment, 15s 9d. Beans are dull. Good New Zealand, 35s ex store. Peas are firm. Moderate quality, new, f.a.q., 42s 6d to 44s ex store. The butter market is steady. Danish is unchanged. There is no business in colonial pending new arrivals. Copper: Spot, £7l los. Tin: Spot, £192 os; three months, £192 ss. Silver is quoted at 28 7-16 d per oz. Pig iron, 54s 7d. Lead, £2O ss. Spelter, £2l. Sugar: German, 9s 7d; first marks, 13s 3d. The Bradford wool market is firm and w tending upwards. Users are still holding off.
