OFFER TO SELL A WIFE.
An offer to sell a wife was mentioned recently in the course of an inquest on Albert' Thomas, a dock laborer, of Limehouse, who 1 committed suicide recently, a verdict of temporary insanity being returned. The widow stated that a few yoai's ago the man came homo after failing; to get work and said to hor: "I have soul you to a captain." She replied: "Don't talk so silly." But his ianswer to this was: "I tell you I have liold you to a captain for 10s." Jokingly, she answered: "Rather a bad price, isn't it? Can't you. get a sub on me? I can do with it." His only reply was: "No; of you go to the captain to whom I have sold you." The relieving officer said at the time that the man was not mad enough to go to an asylum.
