"TO BE A LAYMAN AGAIN."

That he wishes to become, a layman »'*ain because his own personal faith : s not certain enough or strong enough, is tho reason given hy Rev. Irvine Lister for resigning his pastorate at Ebenezer Chapel, TJpi)er Mill, near Oldham (states the London 'Daily Mirror'). He also says: "I feel that I am disqualified because my own. personal religion is not either good enough or clear enough or effective enough to do what I know I ought to do. It is the ahsurd case of the blind trying to lead the blind, and the result is most disastrous. To me it is serious and tragic. As I am afraid of hindering the church work I wish to become a layman again."
