TYRONE ASHORE.

NEAR OTAGO HEADS. U.S.S. CO.'S RECENT PURCHASE. PER UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION. DUNEDIN. Sept. 27. The Tyrone is ashore at Waln'ne Point, about half a mile from the Ota go Heads. She was bound from Lyttelton to Port Chalmers. The Tyrone is one oi the four vessels recently'purchased by the Union Steam Ship Company from the Houldcr line.

REPORTED TOTAL WRECK. STRUCK BROADSIDE ON. Later. The Tyrone is reported to be a total wreck and is filling up fast with water. She went broadside on to the rock* close into the shore.

! PROPELLER BLADES GONE. I DUNEDIN, Sept. 27. i The latest information concerning the. [wreck is that the propeller blades have gone. No. 3 hold is full of water and the rudder is damaged. The crew is not yet ashore.

CREW HAULED UP CLIFF, VESSEL A HOPELESS WRECK. DUNEDIN, Sept. 27. The Tyrone's crew can land, but will have to be hauled up tile cliff. The fog has 1 lifted' temporarily, but is settling down again. The vessel is a hopeless wreck.
