The hearing of evidence in connection with tho coroner's inquiry into the Talisman mine fatality at Karangahake on March '2B last, by which two mm named Mcßride, ami Hydo were killed, wa» concluded' last night, a verdict being returned that the accident was caused through tho breaking of a wire rope which had Ixxiomo deteriorated. I»mt tke ©ridonce was not sufficient to show negligence. A rider was added that the ropes should be tested every three months.
