The only candidate nominated to represent the combined boroughs of Gore and Mataura and the Wyndham Town District on the South land Hospital and Charitable Aid Hoard was John MacGibbon, wiio was formally declared ; elected. MATAURA. Interest at Malaora in municipal matters is confined to the Mayoral contest. Two candidates have been nominated—viz., Messrs John Lowden ''retiring Mayor) and Councillor Thos. C. Smith—and the election will take place on Wednesday next at tho Council Chambers, Denbigh Street.
