We. have this information from the fountain-head—-from the engineers who are in charge ol' the operations at Mataura, and from a personal inspection of the work that is bein a: done it is justifiable to say that there, is every likelihood of the current being restored. Of late accusations have been levelled at those in authority of withholding information as to the true .state of attains. Wo have no hesitation in saying that this attitude, was unfair to tho-p who have been, doing their utmost to overcome a delicate and difficult situation. At the present time men are working up to 12 and ]■! hours per day endeavoring to restore the. elusive current. Present operations are mm. complete, in tlioii character. Every one 01 tile 12N coils in the new generator lias been removed and in order to ii'viie no chanr-e are being rewound : in tact, .'i(i of the most damaged coils are being remade. Naturally the wevk has to be conscientiously performed and the task -s one requirinli infinite patience in the insulation of first the wirnie; and iiieu the coils themselves.
