SIX SOLDIER SONS.
PROUD MOTHER'S FAMILY. Sir soldier sons, all of tljom hann-r seen active .service in South Africa at the same tunc, met on October 21 at the Middletou Hall, Belford. Northumberland, to celebrate the 70th birtlulav <* their proud mother, Mrs leather of The Friary," Tickhill, Doncaster. Tho six sons are:— Major C. I'. Fowlerton I .father who served during tho Boor War as adjutant of the Northumberland Fusiliers (the Fighting Fifth), but did not go beyond Malta. Captain du Santorv Leather, who served in the war with the Fourth Battalion Durban Light Infantry. Captain Ernest A. leather, who served during the war with the Fifth Battalion Northumberland Fusiliers, but did not go to South Africa. Lieutenant K. J. Walters Leather, . who saw more fighting than anv of his brothers as aide-de-camp during the war to General Gough. Lieutenant Edward W. Leather, who fought in the Third Battalion Yorkshire Regiment. Lieutenant Christopher feather, who fought with tho Fifth Northumberland Fusiliers. After the Transvaal War all six officers resigned their commission in the regular Army. The celebration is being held at the home of Major Fowlerton Leather, the eldest son. A similar meeting was held on the safe return of all six brothers after the war.
