WYNDHAM STOCK SALE. The Wjyndham Stock Agents report a very successful sale. There was a large attendance of the public and a good entry of stock. Everything was disposed of at rates above those lately ruling. The sheep market showed a much firmer tone, owing partly to the heavy consignments that have been railed r?6rth lately from the South, and also through the large number bought for forward delivery having had the effect of putting, more confidence ! into the local markets. Hence the various classes offered were easily placed under keen competition. Cattle also sold well. Young. sorts, well bred, made excellent prices. Fat cattle sold at about late rates ruling elsewhere. Sheep.—l 264 were yarded and disposed of as follows: 18 fat ewes at 15s 9d, 68 do. at 15s 7d, 20 at 14s 7d, 15 do. at 13s 7d, 19 at 13s, 40 do. at 12s lid, 13 do. at 12s; 33 fat wethers at 17s, 27 do. at 16s lid, 50 do. at 16s 9d, 17 do. at 16s Id, 11 do. at 16s, 42 do. at 15s 6d; 161 ewes and lambs at lis Id, 400 do. at 9s 3d; 143 2-tooth ewes at 13s 3d; 44 lambs at 12s. Cattle.—Fat cows were sold at from '£B to £6 ss, fat heifers at £6 15s to £5, forward cows and speyed heifers at from £4 10s to £3 ss, 2-year steers at from £4 10s, yearling do. at from £3 13s to £3 ss, yearling heifers at from £3 7s 6d to £3 ss. Pigs.—Stores sold up to £1 ss; Smaller sorts, 14s to 7s 6d. Horses.—Prior to the commencement of the stock sale 8 horses were offered, hut the demand was not very keen. A draught mare and foal were sold at £25. unbroken filly at £l4 ss, colt at £ls. spring-cart gelding at £ls 10s.

The New Zealand Loan and Mercan-j tile Agency Company, Ltd., has received the following cablegram from its London house under date 25th "Wheat.—Market quiet but steady owing to bad weather. Wool.—As compared with last sales' closing rates prices are higher about 5 per cent, for greasy crossbred, lower about par to 5 per cent, for merino medium and inferior, about the same for crossbred scoured, greasy merino super, crossbred slipe, lambs and scoured merino super. Crossbred ewe wool fetched 9d to 10-Jtl; crossbred hogget, to Hid; bellies and pieces, 6d to 62d. Values were equal to the Dunedin sale considering that the quality was affected by the wet weather. There was keen competition by Bradford buyers for crossbred ewe and a smaller percentage than usual were passed in. The catalogues comprise over 15,000 bales.
