WAIMUMU PICNIC.
* FROM OT'K OWN CORRESPONDENT. The annual picnic was held in the school grounds, Waimumu, on Wednesday last, the district being well represented and friends being present from all around. Books and toys were given to the children of the district, and races and other events were held for old and young alike. Thanks are also due to the Mataura Pipe Band, which played several selections during the afternoon. The usual dance was held in the Public Hall in the evening, and proved a thorough success. The music was supplied by Wellman's orchestra. The following programme was carried out:—
