LATE COMMERCIAL.

GORE COMMERCIAL REVIEW. 'Ensign' Office, This Day. Oats.—There, is very little fresh to report in the oat market, which continuos to drag along at lato rate*. There is no douht that there are very few oats available for immediate consumption, hut that buyers aro in need of stock there is evidence by the inquiries at the present time. Still, stoppers are not prepared to operate at the prices which growers are asking. A few sales, however, have been made at 2s 3d and 2s 4d on trucks. With reference to the new crop, it is not likely that there will be many oatg on thi market before the beginning of April. Prices are expected to open at from Is 8d to Is 9d. Northern files report that a fair amount of business has been done for forward delivery at from 2s to 2s 3d, according to quality, buyers in that part being prepared to take the risk of selling forward in the face of statistic* published some little time back which showed a very large increase in the acreage of oats.

Chaff.—The market is glutted at the present time and sales are hard to effect. Prime quality is selling at £3 to £3 ."s on trucks, but it is expected that there will lie more demand ere th« new season's stuff is on the market. Ryegrass.---The weather of late has caused fanners feme anxiety, especially with t"ie rv.-grass crop which has been badly twisted by the recent gales. Heavy rain at prwent will not help matters and tl>? seed harvest is sure to be late. The amount of grass shut off for seed this ye<ir 's much greater than last season, and if there is Anything like fine weather from now on there will bo a very large quantity of seed available.
