"JOYOUS TO BEHOLD."
LABOR PARTY'S CONFERENCE. A COMPREHENSIVE PROGRAMME BT ELECTRIC TELEGRAPH.—COPTRIGHT. PER UNITEL PRESS ASSOCIATION. Received January 25, 11 a.m. LONDON, Jan. 24.
Mr Ben Turner (the Labor Leader), presiding at the annual conference of the Labor Party at Birmingham, said the upheaval of the labor world was joyous to behold. The party's policy included a bargain with the Irish regarding the Osborne judgment. They would give Home Rule in exchange for free rule for trade unions. Other reforms would be votes for all women, free education from the primary schools to the University, an eight-hour day, no night work in factories and municipal coal supplies.
