The Guayaquil forces surrendered Without fighting. During a fierce battle in the suburbs of Quito General Andrade, a supporter of the Quito Government, defeated General Eloy Alfaro's Guayaquil troops, who are supporters of the Provisional Government. A thousand were killed or .wounded.
