WELLINGTON, Jan. 24. Summary and forecast: — "Moderate and variable winds have • prevailed, with mild and misty weather. The barometer has been unsteady; but little change has been recorded. Present indications are for cloudy and hazy + weather, with light rain in many parts. Variable.and moderate winds will prob- ;. ably precede a southerly change, after which an improvement may be expect- ■ ed. The barometer will probably rise slowly after about 16 hours."
