SPORTS MEETING ENTRIES
Pedestrians are reminded that entries are due this (Friday) evening for the annual sports meeting of the Balfour and Longridge Caledonian Society, which will take place on Boxing Day. The principal events are Sheffield Handicap, of £25, nomination, 10s; 220 yds handicap, 440 yds handicap, 880 yds handicap, and one mile handicap, nominations 4s each. Tbe secretary (Mr J. H. McMath) will attend to the requirements of intending entrants. Mr D. Sproat, secretary of the Waikaia Caledonian Society, advertises that entries for the handicap chopping event at his society's gathering on New Year's Day will close to-morrow (Saturday) evening.
