ENTERTAINMENTS.

METHODIST CONVERSAZIONE

A conversazione was held in the Methodist Church last evening, when Rev. M. A. Rugby Pratt presided over a somewhat small audience. A good programme was presented. The choir, under Mr W. Shepherd, did good service,. and several numbers were acceptably rendered by the Wesleyan Glee Party, consisting of Mrs Palmer, Misses J'reeco and D. Alkiit, Messrs Trebilcock and S. Allott. Songs were contributed by Miss Preece (encored) and Mr Trebiloock, and a violin solo was well play--4-1 by Miss S. Latham. Throughout the .evening Miss S. Latham acted as accompanist. ! A presentation of a silver hot water was made by the chairman to [Mr E. C. Smith on behalf of the church fpeople. Mr Pratt spoke of the good Wrvioo Mr Smith had rendered the Church in various capacities and wished flsim and his bride every good for the Wming days. The recipient made a graceful acknowledgment of the gift land good wishes on behalf of himself fnd his wife. During the evening opportunity for (social intercourse was afforded, and a 'bazaar stall did good service. A dainty supper was dispensed by a company of young ladies, and proceedings terminated at 10 o'clock. The proceeds of tLe function are to be applied to reduce the debt on the Church property.
