Received December 14, 9.40 a.m. PERTH, Dec. 14, The Treasurer's Financial Statement says that the dry season in the eastern agricultural districts necessitated extra expenditure for water supply and pre-1 vented the Government collecting conditional purchase rents amounting to £22,000. The revenue for the past year amounted to £3,850,440, and the expenditure to £3,734,000. After wiping out the deficit with which the year opened the balance of £13,399 remained. It is estimated that next year the deficit will be £104,402. It is intended to introduce a graduated land tax and income-tax. LOST £23,000. Received December 14, 10.25 a.m. SYDNEY, Doc. 14. The special report of the Australasian Motor-cab company shows that the company lost £23,000, the chief reason being the insufficiency of cabs running.
