FIRE IN WELLINGTON.
FF.lt UNTTttrv PRRPO ASSOCIATION WELLINGTON, Nov. 29. A fire occurred at one o'clock this morning in a two-storeyed building on Thorndon Quay occupied by the A. and P. Food Company. It started in the engine-room and spread to the second floor and the roof, but the brigade quickly subdued the flames, the damage not being extensive. The building is insured for £IOOO in the Loudon, Lancashire and Globe office, and the stock for £1245 in the National. The cause of the outbreak is supposed to be the over-heating of the exhaust pipe of a gas engine.
