WAIHI AND NO-LICENSE.
1 PER UNITED PHERS ASSOCIATION. I WAIHI, Nov. 3. i A deputation of business men and s others waited on the Borough Council f 1 with reference to a statement made by the Mayor recently that Waihi had not benefited morally or materially under No-license. The speakers challenged the Mayor's statements and urged the Council to pass a resolution contraverting it. 1 The Mayor held to his declaration . and a resolution was passed. "That the opinion of the Mayor regarding Waihi under No-license <loes 'not represent the opinion of the Council and that the Council considers that No-license in ' Waihi has not liad an injurious effect financially, morally or socially on the well-being of the town."
