Relative to the tragedy at Goulburn, where a youth named Broderick has been arrested on a charge of causing his father's death, it is stated that Broderick, senr., threatened to shoot his wife. When the son interposed he chased him, and the son turned and fired. CALLING OUT THE TROOPS. Received November 3, 10.45 a.m. MELBOURNE, Nov. 3. In the Senate a motion to prohibit the calling out of the defence forces against Australian citizens under any circumstances was rejected.
