Jennie is dam of Mr Patrick's mare, Flower of Balmoral, who when a year old was sold for £IOO, and has an almost unbeaten record. Captain Alexander was first at Tapanui and Gore Shows as a yearling and second at Tapanui as a two-year-old. At Ambcrloy (North Canterbury) last year six of Captain Alexander's yearlings got first for best six yearlings by one horse. His full sister, Alexandrine, was first and champion at Tapanui, and was then sold at a large figure to go to the North Island, where she has further added to her laurels, never being beaten there. EMPIRE CREST is a ligkt bay bone, standing 16.34 hands, and is a three-year-old, being foaled on October 6, 1908. and bred by Messrs N. and D. O'Hara, Otama. He has many good points to recommend him as a breeder, having splendid feet and pasterns, good flat bone, plenty of hair of the finest quality, good action and s sound constitution.
