ATHLETICS. MATAURA SOCIETY. . At a meeting of the committee of the Mataura Atldetic Society held this week the secretary (Mr Allan Reid) submitted a rough balance-sheet of the recent sports meeting, which showed a profit of £50 —a highly satisfactory result. RIFLE-SHOOTING. BALFOUR DEFENCE CLUB. The Balfour District Defence Ritle Club held the first match for Mr A. Stewart's (president) Cup on Wednesday.
