MATCHES AT KIVERTOX. All the links on the Riverton bouling green were engaged yesterday for tinfirst time since the inception of the club. Mataura met and defeated five Rivcrton rinks ami two from Otautau, the games being played simultaneously m very enjoyable weather. The visitors received every attention from the local bowlers, who seemed to vie with each other in dispensing hospitalities. Mr Philp (president of the Riverton Club) in a complimentary speech thanked the visitors for u nood game and stated that although his side was beaten he hoped to visit Mataura with some of his best players before the close of the season and endeavor to beat then l in return.
